For the past 30 years, Scientific Testing Technologies (STT) has specialized in the area of tribometric testing and field research.
STT has developed a renowned method of floor testing that provides clients the ability to utilize and assimilate in their safety programs and mitigate hazardous and potentially expensive slip and fall situations. The methodology of “Validating Floor Safety”© uses a scientific approach to measure the coefficient of friction of surfaces in order to determine the adequate slip resistance for pedestrian gait dynamics.
STT was formed by John Kovacs who had more than 30 years of experience in custodial maintenance and floor care. John was a dynamic force in the floor testing arena and had not only provided floor testing services to customers but was also a court recognized expert witness specializing in slip and fall accidents and analysis.
Today STT is ran by janitorial industry expert and long time friend of John’s, Bob Friedman, as well as former rocket, jet propulsion, and combustion engineer and leader in floor safety testing, George Sotter P.E.,Ph.D.
